WordPress Basics: Set Up JetPack and SPAM Filters

JetPack, from WordPress for WordPress.  JetPack is a ‘Plug’ in suite that includes meany Necessities for any site.  SPAM filtering, Statistics and somuch more.

  1. Buy a Domain Name
  2. Install WordPress
  3. Install JetPack
  4. Activate Everything in JetPack

Activate JetPack

  1. Create a WordPress.com account
  2. Use your WordPress.com account user name and password to activate JetPack
  3. Activate Ever Free Plugin, or modules, with in JetPack (don’t ask, just do it)

-The most important plugins in JetPack

  • Site Stats, how many visitors you get, and helps you understand your traffic.
  • Publicize, pushes your posts to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and others.
  • Sharing, Put all those social Networks at your visetors fingertips, help them help you.

Activate Akismet, to filter SPAM comments

  1. Use your wordpress.com account user name and password to activate JetPack

Activate  G.A.S.P., The ”Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin’ adds simple checkbox that automated spam bots will miss

Blog Commenting is one of the most effective strategies for getting listed in Google. 

People read your content, participate and share your content, Search Engines Notice.  This is called ‘Search Engine Optimization‘ or ‘SEO’. Allow comment and encourage sharing.  Links and sharing are among the primary methods Search Engines use to rank sites.  the more active your site the more people are involved the better your site must be.

SPAM comes in all forms with thees basic steps your site will remain clean of adds and unwanted comments.
